Day 1: September 1 | Thursday – Depart for Rome
Depart the USA, Canada or other parts of the world for your overnight flight to Rome.
Day 2: September 2 | Friday - Arrive Rome
Welcome to Rome, you will be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon your guide will introduce you to your fellow pilgrims and your priest who will be with your group for the rest of the journey. The group will make their way to Mass, followed by a welcome dinner with wine. This evening you will have the opportunity to walk to St. Peter’s Square for the Rosary (optional).
Day 3: September 3 | Saturday – Christian Rome
Following breakfast, the group will depart for a sightseeing tour which includes: the Basilica of St. Mary Major, the Basilica of St. John the Lateran, the Pope’s cathedral church where relics of both Peter and Paul remain under the main altar. Next we cross the street to see the Holy Staircase which is believed to be a staircase from Pilate’s palace in Jerusalem and brought to Rome by St. Helen in the 4th century. Stop for lunch, and then we will continue on to visit St Paul. Outside the Walls, here we celebrate Mass. Continue the tour via the Appian Way -- the oldest road from Roman times--plus the famous Domino Quo Vadis Chapel; see the ancient Baths of Caracalla, Arch of Drusus; Tomb of Celilia Metella, and the catacombs of St Callixtus where the early Christians hid themselves to escape persecution. We will conclude the day by visiting the famous, Trevi Fountain. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: September 4 | Sunday - St. Peter’s Square Canonization Ceremony of Blessed Mother Teresa
A very early morning departure to Vatican City. It is with great joy and anticipation that your group will head over to Saint Peter’s Square for the Canonization of Mother Teresa. You will walk to Vatican City to attend Holy Mass and the Canonization Ceremony celebrated by his Holiness Pope Francis. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 5: September 5 | Monday - St. Peter’s Square – Mass of Thanksgiving
This morning your group will walk to St. Peter’s Square for the Celebratory Mass. Enjoy a balance of day at leisure. Tonight you will enjoy a special “206 Tours dinner”. Overnight in Rome.
Day 6: September 6 | Tuesday – Rome – Assisi
After breakfast at the hotel, your group will board the bus, depart Rome and head to Assisi! Assisi is the hometown of St. Francis, patron saint of animals and the environment, and the founder of the Franciscan Order. Enjoy a free afternoon to relax, explore, shop or pray and reflect. Your group will celebrate Mass before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: September 7 | Wednesday - Assisi (The Life of a Saint, that inspired a Holy Father)
Today is a very special day, as you will spend a full day touring the home of the Saint that inspired our Holy Father. Following breakfast, you will begin a tour of Assisi where you will visit the tomb of St Fran-cis. Explore the quaint hilltop birthplace of St Francis that still retains remnants of the atmosphere of the early 1200s, the period when St Francis began his ministry. Contained within the huge 13th-century Basilica are many of the saint's possessions and a series of frescoes depicting his life. You may kneel before the crucifix from which Jesus spoke to St Francis, asking him to rebuild His church. It was in St Mary of the Angels Basilica where St Francis spent most of his life. Here you will visit the Chapel, Porti-uncola, the rose bush, and the cave where the saint retired for prayer. Stroll the medieval streets of the compact little town. You will have some free time to shop or eat lunch at an outdoor cafe with a view of an ancient Roman temple, and later, you will go to the Church of St. Clare to view the relics of St. Clare. The foundress of the Order of Poor, Clare followed the teachings of St Francis by living a life of poverty and humility. You will visit these two saints' tombs before dinner and retiring for the evening.
Day 8: September 8 | Thursday – Assisi – Siena - Assisi
After breakfast you will head south to Siena, the birthplace of Saints, Catherine and Bernardine. Siena is also one of Italy’s loveliest medieval cities. Here you will stroll the Piazza Del Campo, one of Italy’s finest squares and visit the Cathedral and the Basilica of St. Francis, containing the miraculous consecrated hosts that remained intact since 1730. After lunch, you will continue on to view the incorrupt head of St. Catherine at the Basilica of St. Dominic (Her body is preserved in Rome in the Basilica St. Maria sopra Minerva). The group will travel back to Assisi for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: September 9 | Friday – Assisi - Rome – USA
Following breakfast, you will board the bus that will bring the group to the Rome airport for the return flights home or Post tour to Medjugorje.

Day 10: September 9 | Arrive Medjugorje
Following breakfast, you will board the bus that will bring the group to the Rome airport for the return flights to either: Dubrovnik, or Split,. After landing, you will collect your luggage in the baggage claim area, and continue to the Arrival’s Hall where you will be greeted by a tour guide and/or driver. You will be escorted to the vehicle which will take you on the 2 hour drive to the village of Medjugorje. Your group will enjoy a dinner together before retiring for the evening.
Days 11 to 13: September 10 to 12 | Experiencing Medjugorje
While in Medjugorje, you will have the opportunity to experience your faith grow, and share in the faith journey of pilgrims from all over the world. The local guide will accompany your group throughout your stay in the village.

After an early breakfast, we leave by motor coach for Dubrovnik or Split Airport for return flights home.
